Wenstrup Announces Hearing on Vaccine Safety Reporting and Injury Compensation Systems

Press Release

WASHINGTON — Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) will hold a hearing titled “Assessing America’s Vaccine Safety Systems, Part One” to examine the effectiveness of vaccine safety reporting and injury compensation systems following the rollout of the controversial COVID-19 vaccine. The federal government maintains a surveillance system that monitors injuries resulting from widely available vaccinations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, concerns arose that these systems were unable to properly inform the American public about vaccine injury reports and potentially contributed to the deterioration of public trust in vaccine safety. Compensating those harmed by the COVID-19 vaccine also proved challenging as the systems did not appear ready to process the thousands of new claims sparked by this novel vaccine. The first session of this two-part hearing series will give Members the opportunity to probe the leadership of the injury and compensation systems about these concerns and potential failures.

Vaccine safety systems were designed to protect public health. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic — and resulting vaccine mandates — appear to have exceeded the capabilities of these systems. All the while, the Biden Administration coerced healthy Americans into compliance with unscientific vaccine mandates, seemingly without having a sufficient system in place to protect and compensate individuals who were potentially harmed. This hearing is an important step to increase vaccine transparency and to ensure that victims of future vaccine injuries are properly compensated,” said Chairman Wenstrup.
